Your mission

At VR Smart Guide, we're on a mission to revolutionize how small businesses manage their liquidity. As a Senior Product Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in creating an outstanding journey, elevating user experiences by blending qualitative and quantitative user research methodologies and driving user-centricity across our organization.

Your role and contribution

Using qualitative and quantitative methods of user research (e.g. surveys or interviews), you analyze user needs and develop design accordingly
You create concepts and visualize them using mockups, storyboards, flowcharts, information architectures, wireframes, as well as interactive prototypes (Lo- and Hi-Fi), etc. and validate them with interviews and usability tests (also in cooperation with our partners)
You design user interfaces taking into account existing design guidelines, trends and paradigms as well as usability guidelines and prepare them for the developers
You create and maintain pattern libraries and design systems for a consistent appearance of the user interface
You conduct (design thinking) workshops and thereby drive innovation and collaborative work in the team.

To be successful, you need to

Create a Holistic User Experience: Leading the creation of an outstanding end-to-end user experience by exploring it from all angles and taking into account business, consumer, and technological perspectives
Accelerate Delivery: Implement a culture of fast-paced execution by switching gears from deep design thinking to rapid prototyping and GoToMarket execution
Cultivate a Culture of User-Centricity: Leverage user research methods to deeply understand user needs, translating insights into innovative design solutions, while fostering a collaborative culture of user-centric thinking within the team.

Your profile

University degree in the field of communication design, interaction design, interactive media, human-computer interaction, psychology or similar; or comparable qualification acquired in practice
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in product design
Experience in the finance/fintech industry, with B2B experience preferred
Move fast and fix things: Experience in an agile development environment and familiarity with early-stage startup dynamics
Work with a s trong understanding of design theory and concepts. Highly proficient in interaction design, rapid prototyping, low-fidelity prototyping, high-fidelity prototyping, and interactive prototyping
You have a flair for good design and bring a good dose of empathy for users
You have excellent collaboration skills
Confident handling of Figma and the Adobe Creative Cloud or other tools
Experienced in prototyping, for example with Invision or Axure is desirable
You confidently present your concepts and ideas and are open to feedback from the team and customers
You are fluent in German and English
You are located in Germany with a valid working permit

About us

We are VR Smart Guide - we enable entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals to follow their real passion by continuously & proactively managing their liquidity situation and taking the administrative workload from them. Based on our understanding of the SME’s business situation, we proactively offer pre-checked financial products to solve business challenges before they even appear or to make use of potentials before they are realized.

What problem do we want to solve?

For many small businesses managing finances is a necessary evil. As a consequence, they are lacking a holistic overview of their liquidity situation and often miss out of the potential of financial products. When they wantr to finally unlock this potential, they experience long waiting times and manual interactions with financial institutions.

On the other hand, traditional banks are not well prepared for the needs of small businesses and lack adequate features and capabilities to serve this customer segment in a digital and profitable manner.

The innovation

We accompany small businesses in their day-to-day business by providing a continuous overview of their liquidity situation, proactively providing pre-checked financial product offerings that help to avoid liquidity problems before they even emerge. For banks, we provide relevant insights into the most recent business situation of their SME customer base to streamline their sales processes.
